John – the streetwise gentleman with a soft side 🐾

John is a handsome adult black cat with a unique twist – he’s actually a ghost tabby, so in the right light you’ll spot his gorgeous hidden pattern.

Rescued from life on the streets by a kind lady, John has blossomed from a timid stray into a wonderfully affectionate and quirky companion. When first found, he walked with a limp on one of his back legs – likely the result of old fighting injuries. Happily, the limp has now gone, though he does still stick that leg out a little when sitting. It doesn’t bother him in the slightest and only adds to his character. John has a few battle scars from his outdoor days, but they only add to his charm and tell the story of how far he’s come.

John is a fully grown adult cat, but with immaculate teeth and clear eyes, the vets don’t think he’s very old. They estimate he’s around 3-5 years, and have noted 2020 on his vet records as a maximum birth year.

• Vocal – he’ll happily keep up a chirpy conversation with you.
• Surprisingly gentle with other cats, often seeking their affection and company.
• Funny, endearing, and full of charm.
• Loves his wet food (not fussy on brand) and has a very healthy appetite.

• Recently neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, and flea-treated.
• Uses the litter tray reliably.
• Clean bill of health – blood work and thyroid tests are all great.
• No issues with spraying indoors.

John gets along with the other cats in his current household, and also the 5-year-old child (although he isn’t keen on being stroked by the child, he will take a treat off him and settle in the same room). John gives lots of kisses to the other two cats and likes to lie next to them.

John is available for adoption on a direct home-to-home basis as he is living with the lovely lady who took him in, cared for him and brought him back to health. John is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped, so he is now ready to go to his forever home.

John may have started life as a rough-and-tumble street cat, but he’s proven himself to be a gentle, affectionate soul who’s ready for a forever home, where he can continue to grow in confidence, enjoy comfort, and of course, keep up his lively conversations with his new family. With his striking coat, sweet nature, and love of companionship, he’s sure to make a wonderful addition to the right family.
