Community Support
At Avid’s Angels Cat Rescue, we believe that it takes a community to make a difference in the lives of cats in need.
That’s why we offer a variety of community support programs aimed at helping cats and kittens in our local area.
Here are just a few examples of the ways we support our community:
Spay and neuter
One of the most effective ways to reduce the number of cats in shelters and on the streets is through spay and neuter programmes. At Avid’s Angels Cat Rescue, we offer low-cost spay and neuter services for cats in our community. By preventing unwanted litters, we can reduce the number of cats in shelters and on the streets, and ultimately save lives.
Trap-neuter-return (TNR)
For feral cats that cannot be socialised and adopted, we offer TNR programmes. This involves trapping feral cats, spaying or neutering them, and then returning them to their colony. By preventing them from reproducing, we can stabilise the population and improve their overall health.
Fostering
We rely on a network of dedicated foster homes to care for cats and kittens that are not yet ready for adoption. Fostering not only saves lives, but it also helps socialise cats and kittens, making them more adoptable in the long-term. Click here to find out more.
Volunteer Network
We have an established volunteer network within the community. Volunteers assist with tasks such as feeding and socialising cats, cleaning and maintaining rescue facilities, transporting cats to veterinary appointments and participating in fundraising events.
Education and Outreach
We believe that education is key to preventing cat homelessness and improving the lives of cats in our community. That’s why we offer educational programmes for children and adults alike. These programmes cover topics such as responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering, and the importance of adopting from shelters and rescues.
Collaboration with Other Rescues
We often work closely with other local animal shelters to share resources and help each other to find suitable homes for cats. We may transfer cats between our facilities, assist with spaying/neutering and medical care, and support each other in promoting adoption events.
Fundraising Partnerships
We are always looking to form partnerships with businesses, corporations and individual donors in the community to secure financial support. This enables us to organise joint fundraising events, solicit sponsorships or collaborate with local businesses that donate a percentage of sales to the rescue.
Veterinary Clinics
Collaborating with local veterinary clinics is crucial for our organisation to provide medical care for rescued cats. Many clinics offer discounted services to us, providing vaccinations, spaying/neutering and other necessary treatments at reduced rates.
These collaborations enable Avid’s Angels Cat Rescue to pool resources, reach a wider audience and provide better care for our rescued cats, ultimately increasing their chances of finding loving forever homes.
