Meet Barney 🖤🤍

Barney is a gorgeous black-and-white tuxedo boy, aged 1 year and 8 months, with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s a loud, cheeky chappy who likes to make his presence known, especially when he comes back into the house! If you’re looking for a cat who chats back and enjoys being part of the action, Barney is your boy!

Barney is incredibly affectionate and loves being around people. While he isn’t a lap cat, he’s very much a sit-next-to-you cat and enjoys being close to his humans. He’s happy to be picked up, fussed over and will even enjoy cuddles in bed. He knows his name, comes when called and he never hides away from visitors – Barney loves meeting new people.

He’s playful, energetic and particularly fond of dangly feather toys that you can wave around for him. He also loves his cardboard scratchers and has a little mouse house that he likes to sleep in, both of which will come with him.

Barney enjoys going outdoors and likes to explore, though he absolutely hates the rain and will make his feelings very clear if he gets wet! He is litter trained but currently toilets outside. He loves his food and isn’t fussy at all (he’ll happily eat whatever you buy him) but be warned, he will try to convince you he hasn’t been fed yet!

Barney is very easy-going and confident. He’s great with children, strangers, travelling, and has lived happily alongside a quiet dog. He isn’t bothered by household noises. While he has had some tense encounters with neighbouring cats, this may simply be territorial, and we’re unsure how he’d be with another cat in a new home. For this reason, we would suggest that Barney needs to be the only cat in the household.

Barney is a much-loved family pet, and this decision has been incredibly hard for his owners. Sadly, due to the worsening allergies of one of Barney’s owners, which haven’t improved despite six months of medication, they have no choice but to find Barney a new home where he can continue to thrive.

Barney is being offered for adoption on a direct home-to-home basis. His new adopter will need to be able to collect him from the BL5 area of Westhoughton, Bolton.

Barney is a beautiful, loving boy who brings so much joy to those around him, and he’s looking for a home where he’ll be cherished just as much as he is now.
