We’re thrilled to announce that the long-planned new cattery is officially underway! As shared in The Bolton News on Saturday 19th July, and confirmed by our team, the new facility will replace our old cattery, which had reached the end of its life. This is a momentous milestone for Avid’s Angels – and a huge win for our rescued cats.

🎉 Why the upgrade was essential
- Time for retirement
Our original cattery, though full of memories, had served us well but was showing its age. It was clear that a purpose-built space was needed to continue offering safe, secure housing for the cats in our care.
- Increased capacity & flexibility
The new cattery is designed to accommodate more cats at once, especially useful during busy seasons and emergency intakes. It gives us the flexibility to better meet the increasing demand for rescue spaces in the North West.
👏 What this means & how you can help
- Better care, more adoptions
A calm, clean environment not only supports cat wellbeing but enhances adopter experiences.
- Volunteer & donate
From hands-on help during the build to funding essentials (beds, food, medical care) – every bit helps.
- Spread the word
Share our story to attract potential adopters, foster carers, and supporters. Reach out via our website and Facebook page to ask how you can support – every donation, comment, or share makes a difference.
🙌 United by passion
From generous donors, passionate volunteers, and our brilliant core team, this project is proof that when Bolton comes together, incredible things can happen.
Avid’s Angels’ new cattery is more than a shelter – it’s a symbol of community collaboration and compassion. Congratulations to the team, volunteers, and supporters who are making this vision a reality. Here’s to more purrs, playful antics, and forever homes – made possible by this beautiful new space.
