A Little Bit About Me

🐾 Alayah – a gentle soul seeking peace & quiet 🐾

Alayah is a beautiful, gentle tabby girl looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly relax and be herself.

She is being offered for a direct home-to-home adoption as her current home, although very loving, is quite small and busy. With another cat, a dog, and lots going on, Alayah has become anxious and stressed. We feel she would thrive in a quieter environment, ideally without dogs and possibly as a solo cat.

Alayah’s personality & lifestyle

Alayah is an independent girl who enjoys affection on her own terms. She isn’t a cat who wants to be picked up, but she does enjoy gentle fuss when she chooses it. She has a wonderful, expressive voice (she’ll chat to you, especially at feeding time) and her loud purr is incredibly endearing.

She loves to sleep in warm, peaceful spots and can often be found snoozing the day away. She’s very clean, grooms herself beautifully, and frequently strikes the most amusing yoga-style poses thanks to her flexibility.

Alayah is confident outdoors, enjoys fresh air in warmer weather, and isn’t afraid of heights; she’ll happily hop fences and walk along garage roofs.

She usually stays close to home and often naps on the driveway when her owner is around. At night, she likes sleeping on the bedroom windowsill.

🎾 Play

Although Alayah sleeps a lot, she still has playful moments:

* Loves interactive toys like feather wands and wiggly mice

* Enjoys cardboard boxes and chasing leaves on windy days

* Uses her scratching post well

* Quick reactions and still very agile

🩺 Health & litter information

Alayah is in good health and has very recently been checked by the vet. She has experienced stress-related urination indoors, particularly on bath mats or door mats (wee only – she uses the litter trays for poo). The vet ruled out any infection and the behaviour is believed to be stress-related.

The vet has prescribed Nutracalm, a calming supplement mixed with food once daily, to help reduce stress/anxiety. It’s hoped that in a calmer household, this behaviour would significantly improve or resolve altogether.

She has used wood pellet litter as well as Catsan-type litter, and it’s possible litter type may also play a role. Alayah’s adopter could trial different litter types to see if this helps.

Alayah has gained a little weight recently due to being indoors more during colder weather, but she has always been a petite female.

🍽️ Food preferences

* Currently eats Whiskas wet food morning and night

* Hill’s Science Plan adult biscuits are left out during the day (she prefers wet food)

* Loves treats and especially chicken

* Does not like own-brand foods such as Tesco, Aldi, Pets at Home, etc. or certain biscuit brands (James Wellbeloved, Whiskas & Go-Cat – many have been trialled!)

🏡 Ideal home

 Alayah would be best suited to:

* A quiet, low-stress home

* An experienced adopter who understands cats that value space and independence

* A home without dogs, and potentially as the only cat

* Someone patient who will allow her time to settle and come around in her own way – she may be quite timid initially

With calm, consistency, and understanding, Alayah has the potential to truly blossom.

📍 Adoption details

* Direct home-to-home adoption

* Collection required from the Worsley area of Manchester

The decision to rehome Alayah has been made with her well-being at heart, and we’re hoping to find her a loving home where she can finally feel safe, settled, and at peace.

If you’re looking for a gentle, characterful cat who will be a calm companion rather than a cuddly lap cat, Alayah could be the perfect match. She just needs patience, peace, and understanding ❤️.
