Meet Whimsy – a gentle, timid soul in need of a quiet home

Whimsy is a beautiful 6-year-old female calico with a heart as soft as her fur. She was recently adopted and sadly returned, through no fault of her own. She is currently living happily with one of our lovely fosterers.

Whimsy is a very sweet-natured girl who loves her peace and quiet, preferring to spend her time curled up in a cosy spot. Once she feels completely relaxed and safe, she enjoys gentle strokes for hours and may even lay a paw or rest her head on you.

Whimsy is a timid cat and can be startled by noise and sudden movements. When this happens, she runs to her fosterer for comfort. Due of her nervous nature, she is best suited as an indoor-only cat in a calm, quiet home with no other pets or young children.

Whimsy’s needs & preferences:

🏡 Ideal home: A quiet, patient household with experienced cat owners who understand shy and nervous cats. She needs a stress-free environment where she can feel secure.

🚫 Other pets: Would prefer to be the only pet in the household.

🍗 Food: Loves Whiskas Dry Complete food but is not a big fan of wet food.

👶 No young children – Due to her nervous nature, a home without children is best.

🐾 Handling: Can be challenging to catch, but once picked up, she remains calm and never scratches or bites.

🐾 Litter training: There is a high chance that Whimsy may have accidents when she is settling into a new home, as she did with her fosterer. However, once she is settled, feeling confident and calm, the accidents stop. Whimsy’s fosterer has trialled various litter types and found the one Whimsy is happy with (wood based, unscented).

🚪Indoor-only cat – Whimsy will need a safe, indoor-only environment.

🛏 Favourite activities: Lounging in a quiet space, receiving gentle pets when relaxed, and resting on a comfy bed. She loves playing and will take a toy to her fosterer when she wants to play.

💖 Affectionate moments: Whimsy likes to sit on her fosterer’s lap, and will wait for ages for her fosterer to be ready to accommodate her wishes! She will also curl up beside her.

What Whimsy needs in an adopter:

Whimsy requires an adopter who is patient, understanding, and willing to understand that she may have a few litter-tray challenges whilst she is settling in her new home. She will thrive in a low-stress home where she can feel completely safe. A calm routine and plenty of cosy spots to hide and rest will help her build confidence.

Although she may take time to trust, Whimsy has a lot of love to give to the right person. If you have the heart and home to give this gentle, timid girl the peaceful life she needs, she will be forever grateful.
